The inaugural Biotech Connections: Bringing Together Industry, Investors and Resources in Montgomery County event aims to unite early-stage life sciences companies with resource partners, potential investors and other state and local organizations dedicated to fostering business growth and expansion in Montgomery County, Md.
Co-hosted by Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation and the University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing (UM-IHC), this exciting event seeks to facilitate meaningful connections among stakeholders, spark innovative collaborations, promote sharing of technological advances and encourage the development of strategic partnerships.

The University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing is a $70M initiative funded by Montgomery County, the University of Maryland MPowering the State Partnership (MPower), and the State of Maryland. UM-IHC aims to build a learning health system for the State of Maryland that leverages advanced computation and medical innovation to advance public health and improve quality of life for residents statewide.
At UM-IHC, scientists from across two University of Maryland campuses and a statewide health system collaborate with industry, commercialize health care technologies, and develop and test health care interventions to simultaneously improve health outcomes and contribute to Maryland’s economy. UM-IHC works with life sciences companies and government agencies in Montgomery County to:
