DESCRIPTION:The University of Maryland is hosting the Mpact Conference on U
 nderstanding Regional Opportunities and Partnerships to Drive American Com
 petitiveness on March 25-27\, 2026 at the Samuel Riggs Alumni Center in Co
 llege Park\, Md. Made possible by support from the National Science Founda
 tion (NSF)\, as well as the Rita Allen Foundation\, Sage Publishing\, an
 d the University of Maryland’s Division of Research\, College of Behav
 ioral and Social Sciences\, and College of Arts and Humanities\, the conf
 erence will explore a number of key themes\, including:\n\n 	optimizing an
 d assessing the impact of community-engaged research on policy\, practice\
 , and economic development\n\n\n 	developing trustworthy and human-centere
 d artificial intelligence applications\n\n\n 	addressing grand challenges 
 through partnerships\n\n\n 	exploring the future of funding for public imp
 act research\n\n\n 	building best practices and ecosystems for supporting 
 social innovation\n\nRepresentatives from academia\, government\, industry
 \, and nonprofits will participate in the conference. Presenters will expl
 ore how best to achieve societal impact by addressing critical issues coll
 aboratively with partner organizations and communities\, harnessing expert
 ise from across a variety of fields\, in particular the social sciences\, 
 humanities\, and arts. Conference partners include the National Science F
 oundation (NSF)\, the Rita Allen Foundation\, Sage Publishing\, and Sig
