John K. Hsu has over twenty years of experience evaluating intellectual property matters and has litigated more than sixty patent, trademark, and trade secret cases involving various technologies such as pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices, computer software, and food processing technology. He has utilized his strong scientific foundation and extensive litigation experience to develop and implement discovery and trial strategies for successful court outcomes and favorable settlements. He has managed litigation teams throughout all phases of litigation and has represented clients before the federal district courts (both jury and bench trials), the United States International Trade Commission, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Since 2006, he has focused on pharmaceutical litigation representing drug manufacturers in high-stakes patent litigation brought under the Hatch-Waxman Act. He also managed patent portfolios and prosecuted patents before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Dr. Hsu earned his bachelor’s in biology from The Johns Hopkins University, his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
