Entrepreneur in Residence
Sharon Knight has extensive executive experience in healthcare innovation, operations, and advancing health equity. She specializes in scaling healthcare startups, driving growth, and enhancing operational efficiency. As President and COO of Hawthorne Health, Sharon played a pivotal role in developing a novel mobile clinical research platform, establishing a provider network, and securing key contracts and venture funding. Her leadership contributed significantly to the company’s pioneering work in decentralized clinical trials. Previously, Sharon served as President of One Medical, where she was instrumental in the company’s expansion, scaling the company beyond a single market, and driving operational excellence that supported the company becoming a national leader in primary care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sharon led Stop the Spread, a nonprofit that mobilized the private sector to address critical gaps in the national response. Her work in this role, particularly in promoting equitable vaccine distribution with support she secured from Google.org, underscores her commitment to health equity. Her non-healthcare experience spans various company sizes, geographies and sectors, as illustrated by her role at Electronic Arts, where she established and managed a global shared services development team and led complex change management initiatives across multiple functions and locations. Sharon also brings significant experience in finance, having held finance leadership roles not only at Electronic Arts but at Gap Inc., and KFC where she honed her experience in unit economics. She has served on numerous private company boards and is an active venture partner with JAZZ Venture Partners providing support to portfolio companies. Sharon holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BA in Economics from Smith College.
